Interoperability of GXV3xxx IP Multimedia Phones with SmartView SIP Door Phones Increases Security Options with IP Video Telephony; Delivers More Affordable, Video Rich Access and Monitoring Solutions

Brookline, MA and Heerhugowaard, The Netherlands (29 February, 2012) - Grandstream Networks, the leading manufacturer of IP voice/video telephony and video surveillance solutions, today announced a new interoperability agreement with Netherlands-based Robin Telecom Development that provides enhanced security access and facility monitoring solutions for enterprise and SMB/SME customers. Business customers throughout Europe, including The Netherlands, Sweden, Spain, Italy and Russia can seamlessly implement Robin SmartView SIP door phones and Grandstream GXV3xxx IP Multimedia Phones to stream live H.264/H.263 video of people and vehicles attempting to access a business premise to a receptionist area or security department.

“Opening up additional possibilities for customers to safely and accurately monitor the coming and going of people and vehicles within their place of business is a value add we fully embrace,” said Frank Kuipers, General Manager of Robin Telecom Development BV. “We believe offering interoperability with products like the GXV3175 and our SmartView SIP door phone is an ideal combination for improved access control.” He added, “The GXV3175 7” touchscreen color LCD, for example, provides crystal clear video streaming. The synergy between SmartView door phones and Grandstream solutions helps broaden customer business applications and helps tightens security measures which is a growing concern.”

The Robin SmartView is a next generation SIP door phone with an integrated 5 Megapixel IP camera with 180-degree hemispheric (fish-eye) lens. The SmartView connects to the (hosted) VoIP telephony environment and provides multiple live H.264/H.263 video streams to the Grandstream GXV3000, GXV3140 or GXV3175 and a web browser or third party video management system (VMS).

“We view the implementation of our IP video telephony solutions with SmartView Door Phones presents another unique example of how SIP-based solutions can interoperate to create differentiating applications that benefit businesses,” said David Li, CEO of Grandstream. “We look forward to future collaboration with Robin Telecom to develop other ways to help business customers secure their premises.”

The GXV3xxx Video and IP Multimedia Phones deliver a more advanced, integrated multimedia communication experience with extraordinary video telephony capabilities with amazing picture sharpness, superior HD audio quality, and a variety of business productivity, casual entertainment, and social networking applications that are embedded in the phone. The GXV3140 and GXV3175 redefine desktop IP communications experience with a raised level of innovation and integration of standard based HD IP telephony, high quality real-time videoconference, online rich media infotainment service, social multimedia and business productivity applications.
